Veins of Ink
I am Maria Keller, a manual illustrator and visual artist based in Ohio. Under the name Veins of Ink, I create images that linger somewhere between the beautiful and the unsettling.
I have always been drawn to sideshow attractions, hybrids, and masks—the things that invite us to look twice. My process is deliberately tactile: I build each piece with fine-point ink pens, sometimes as precise as 0.03mm, then bring vibrant acrylics into the work to give its strange inhabitants color and presence.
The alive eye, hybrid creatures, and human masks return again and again in my art. They are fragments of stories, watching figures, and reminders that identity is rarely as simple as it first appears.
I invite you to look closely. Stay with the details, follow the veins, and confront the weirdness beneath the surface.
